City of Syracuse gives $250K to hip hop youth center

The Hip Hop Center for Youth Entrepreneurship is one of two projects receiving $250,000. The Good Life Youth Foundation is redeveloping a dilapidated and graffiti-covered 38,000-square-foot former dairy building at 215 Tully St. on the Near West Side to be used as a youth center with a focus on music, art and food. The $9 million project will also have community event space, retail tenants and housing units.
