Rooted in exposure, empowerment, and personal growth, these trips give youth access to new places, people, and ideas—helping them build broader worldviews and discover their purpose. Through culturally relevant travel, mentorship, reflection, and hands-on learning, participants are encouraged to reshape their identities, challenge limiting beliefs, and connect with positive role models and peer networks. These journeys serve as a catalyst for behavioral change, self-worth, and future planning.

Why It Works as a Survival Framework
At Good Life Youth Foundation, we are not just youth mentoring agency. Our focus on entrepreneurship as a guiding factor to our model allows for us to also design, create, and operate various social ventures that allow us to hire, train, and graduate youth into creating their own businesses toward self-sustainability. We believe that by providing young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed, we can break the cycle of poverty and create a better future for all.
2025 Trip Summary: Journey Through Legacy & Empowerment
“The short of it is that THE OPEN ROAD IS THE HOOK. TRANSFORMATION IS THE GOAL. You pull them in with every mile of new scenery. You hold them with stories shared under starlit skies. But what you’re really forging is self-discovery, connection, and purpose.”
The 2025 Escape My Reality Trip will be a 7 to 10-day southern road journey titled “Journey Through Legacy & Empowerment.” This year’s theme centers on deepening cultural awareness and fostering self-empowerment through heritage, education, and exposure to Black excellence.

Targeting youth ages 13–20, the trip will include stops in Washington, D.C., Durham, NC, Atlanta, GA, Montgomery, AL, and Birmingham, AL. Activities will feature tours of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, HBCU visits (Spelman, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta), transformative panels with young Black professionals, financial literacy sessions, Peace Circles, and volunteer service projects.
Daily practices such as affirmations, journaling, group reflection, and discussion prompts will guide participants through meaningful internal growth. Outcomes include increased cultural pride, goal setting, academic interest, and realignment with leadership, purpose, and self-worth.
This trip is more than a tour—it’s a launchpad for life transformation.
